At Unagi Mankichi, we are dedicated to offering delicious unaju (grilled eel over rice) at more affordable prices, so you can enjoy this traditional delicacy more casually.
To ensure safety and quality, we use only domestically farmed eel from Japan, sourced through exclusive partnerships with trusted aquaculture farms in Kagoshima Prefecture. These eels are carefully raised with great attention.
Each eel is grilled over charcoal to bring out its natural aroma, then paired with our signature sauce—meticulously prepared by simmering eel heads, livers, and bones to extract every drop of umami. The result is a rich, flavorful dish served over premium rice selected from Kyoto’s renowned rice purveyor, Hachidaime Gihey. We invite you to experience it for yourself.
